Guest speakers Craig Schaunaman (D-House District 3, 1989-1998), and Mike Jaspers (R-District 11, Representative 1997-2003 and Senator 2003-2005) share their experiences running for office, serving as young legislators, and how their tenure was a springboard for future leadership positions in the state.

Keynote Panel: SDARL Graduates’ Legislative Leadership

A conversation on the successful leadership strategies for accomplishing wins for agriculture in the legislature with:

  • Gary Cammack (R-District 29, Representative 2013-2015 and Senator 2015-2023), SDARL Class I

  • Mary Duvall (R-District 24, Representative 2013-2021 and Senator 2021-2023), SDARL Class II

  • J.D. Wangsness (R-District 23, Representative 2019-2023 and 2023-2025), SDARL Class VI
