Craig Converse
Craig currently farms near Arlington, SD, on a third-generation family farm raising soybeans and corn along with a seed sales and a farm winery business. Craig graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Agronomy. After graduating college he worked for Renk Seed Company as a research technician, Garst Seed Company as a corn breeder in Minnesota, then with Syngenta as a research site manager in Wisconsin before returning to the family farm in 2008. Craig served on the South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council for nine years and on the SD Soybean Processors board of directors for one year. Craig continues to work closely with SDSU researchers through the soybean on-farm research program and with grape and winery researchers. Craig has three grown children and in his spare time enjoys traveling and taking his classic cars to shows around the state.
