On June 8-9, 2022, Ground Works/South Dakota Ag in the Classroom will host the first ever SD Education and Agriculture Conference at South Dakota State University. SDARL alumni are invited to attend and build this new partnership with 4 to 8th grade teachers in the state.
The June conference will enhance the integration of agriculture into lesson plans that teachers are using in the upper elementary and middle school classrooms. SDARL graduates are asked to attend the conference and collaborate with local educators in their geographic area. This is a great opportunity to put the education and communication skills learned in SDARL seminars to a practical use and step up into a new level of leadership.
The goal of this partnership is to create a coalition of educators and agricultural leaders who will strengthen the understanding of and advocacy for education and agriculture in South Dakota.
The SD Education and Agriculture Conference will allocate time to facilitate face-to-face communication and brainstorming ideas together.
