SDARL Walt Bones III Eminent LeaderIt’s a big year for Walt Bones III (Class II). Earlier this year he was named the 2022 Governor’s Ag Ambassador.  This week he will be honored in Brookings for being named a 2022 Eminent Leader in Agriculture, Family and Community by South Dakota State University Colleges of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences and Education & Human Sciences.

In addition to his time on the family’s Parker farm, Bones has served on several committees in the region and around the state and in leadership positions.  He also served as South Dakota Secretary of Agriculture.

You can read more about this honor and hear from Bones in this article from the South Dakota State University news page.   Here is an exert from that interview,  “To get things done it takes a group working together toward a common goal,” explained the 2022 Eminent Leader in Agriculture, Family and Community. “I come back to the lyrics of a Toby Keith song, “if you don’t know where you’re going, you might end up somewhere else.’”

SDARL is so very proud to have you as an alum and your continued service and leadership of the agricultural industry in South Dakota.  Congratulations Sir.
