Ground was broken on November 10, 2021, for the development of VF Renewable Energy, one of the newest anaerobic digester facility projects to be designed and operated by Dynamic in Revillo, South Dakota. The groundbreaking took place at the Research Park at South Dakota State University, and featured Michael Crinion (SDARL IV), EVP of Strategic Development for Dynamic Group.
The project will provide tremendous financial benefit to the Revillo community. Local subcontractors will receive work valued at more than $11M. Once this project is fully operational, 4 full-time positions will be essential to run the facility. The setup will include a state-of-the-art nutrient management system. VF will utilize 2 digesters, running 24/7 to produce renewable natural gas (RNG).
The RNG produced will be injected into the interstate pipeline and used to create compressed natural gas (CNG) for vehicles resulting in decreased dependency on fossil fuels. The two digesters on the property will be utilizing the manure from Victory Jersey Farm, a 5,000 cow operation. This process provides the farm with the ability to protect natural resources by reducing potential greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, it will allow the farm to decrease the volume of manure to be land applied. As a result of the anaerobic digestion process, there will be more than a 90% reduction in the odor compared to nondigested dairy manure. Residents of the area will certainly appreciate the reduced odor during the land application of manure.
Dynamic Group has several current ongoing biodigester projects in progress in addition to VF Renewable Energy, including BC Organics (Greenleaf, Wis.), Ash Grove Dairy (Lake Benton, Minn.), Drumgoon Dairy (Lake Norden, S.D.), Marshall Ridge Farms (State Center, Iowa), Newalta Dairy (Pipestone, Minn.), Tri-Cross Dairy (Viborg, S.D.), and Van Winkle Dairy (Canistota, S.D.) The group partners include BP, Clean Energy Fuels Corp, Orix and Certarus. ProAg Engineering and the McMahon Group are providing the engineering and architectural services. Miron Construction will build the facilities. Further information on Dynamic is available at https://www.dynamicgrp.us/victory-farms
