Dawn Scheier farms full-time with her husband Pat in Salem, SD, at their fourth-generation farm where they raise corn and soybeans. Dawn was recently featured on the Hungry for Truth blog, sharing her thoughts on both the growing season and the holiday season.

Responding to a question about the best farming advice she has ever received, Dawn stated, “Work smarter not harder. That is achieved by staying hungry for learning. Learning is your fuel for new ideas, improvements, and new alternatives for success.” Dawn also shares her fabulous recipe for Rum and Nutmeg Christmas Cookies and reflects on what the Christmas season means to her.

Hungry for Truth is an initiative from South Dakota Soybean Research & Promotion Council, the soybean checkoff organization, designed to open conversations about food between South Dakotans and the farmers who grow it.
