SDARL Welcomes Keynote Speaker,

Dr. Ronald Place

“Growing up in South Dakota, I’ve always been passionate about serving the people who work hard to provide for their families and communities. That passion led me to medical school and the United States Army, where I proudly served our nation’s sons and daughters as a general surgeon, colorectal surgeon, healthcare executive, and ultimately as the Director of the Defense Health Agency.

Now, as Regional President & CEO of Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center, I’m proud to be a part of an organization whose mission is predicated on making a positive impact on the lives and health of people in the community. Helping my neighbors access the highest quality care right here in our backyard is incredibly rewarding, and a responsibility I don’t take lightly.”
