Dawn Scheier

Dawn Scheier, a Class V SDARL graduate, is a generational farm partner and co-owner of Scheier Farms near Salem, South Dakota, where she has been involved in corn and soybean production for more than 40 years. Alongside her husband, Pat, and their son, Ben, Dawn helps manage the family farming operation with a focus on sustainability, conservation, and innovation.

A dedicated advocate for agriculture, Dawn has served as a director for the South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council and has represented South Dakota soybean farmers on national and international trade and market development initiatives. She has also served in leadership roles with the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) and the World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH), helping strengthen global demand for U.S. soybeans and build relationships with customers around the world.

In addition to her leadership in production agriculture, Dawn is passionate about sharing the story of modern farming with consumers. She has been an active volunteer with CommonGround, engaging the public in conversations about how food is grown and the importance of sustainable agriculture. Through her farming, leadership, and outreach, Dawn remains committed to advancing South Dakota agriculture for future generations.
