Exciting Start for SDARL Class XII

SDARL Class XII began their journey with a kickoff seminar Nov. 9-11, 2023. The first event was a mixer with class members and spouses/partners at First Dakota bank in Mitchell.

On Friday, Nov. 10, the first full day of the seminar featured a panel of four SDARL endowment contributors, lunch with guest speaker Walt Bones (Class II), and a chance to learn about each other with each member giving a 3-minute introduction speech. The day was capped off with a social and banquet, providing the class an opportunity to meet with over 50 SDARL alumni and friends in attendance, and keynote speaker, ag advocate Amanda Radke.

Class XII, spouses and alumni enjoyed a leadership development training session on the second day of the seminar with guest speaker Mike Oster, learning how to “Make Excellence Your Average,” followed by a luncheon with special guest Denny Everson telling the story of how SDARL began.

The class was challenged to set high expectations for themselves individually and as a team, and the support from families and workplaces at home was recognized and appreciated. Class XII is off to an excellent start and looking ahead to Seminar 2 in Brookings, focusing on Communication Excellence.
